Speaking at the BRICS Business Forum in Johannesburg, South Africa, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his confidence that India will soon achieve the milestone of becoming a five trillion-dollar economy. He emphasized sectors such as IT, Telecom, FinTech, AI, and semiconductors and highlighted India's commitment to the "Make in India, Make for the World" vision.

Despite the challenges faced by the global economy, Prime Minister Modi proudly shared that India currently boasts the title of the world's fastest-growing major economy. He projected India's imminent evolution into a five trillion-dollar economy, envisioning it to be the driving force of global growth. Acknowledging the past nine years, he revealed a nearly threefold increase in people's incomes and attributed women as significant contributors to India's economic ascent.

PM Modi marked the 10th anniversary of the BRICS Business Council by appreciating its instrumental role in navigating the major economic crisis of 2009. His leadership acknowledged the collaborative efforts of the council in shaping economic strategies during challenging times. His engagement further extended to the BRICS Leaders Retreat, where he engaged with leaders from the bloc to discuss global developments.

PM Modi emphasized India's "transformative" role in elevating the global economy. He underscored India's adaptability in converting adversities into opportunities for economic reform. The nation's emphasis on reducing compliance burdens and fostering a conducive environment for businesses to thrive has been instrumental in this transformation. 

Prime Minister Modi conveyed that India's growth is founded on its vision to empower women and ensure their substantial role in the economy. He celebrated India's advancements in sectors like IT and semiconductors, while also highlighting its dedication to the empowerment of women.

Addressing the issue of ease of doing business, he highlighted India's transition from a bureaucratic "red tape" approach to a more welcoming "red carpet" stance. PM Modi commended India's strides in technology and digital finance. He highlighted the significant progress made in financial inclusion, particularly benefiting rural women. India's achievement in recording the highest number of digital transactions globally showcases its prowess in the digital realm. This accomplishment has also attracted the interest of countries like the UAE, Singapore, and France to collaborate with India on this platform.
